Gravity changes are considerable indications of geodynamic and tectonic processes in the region. However, gravimetric records are constantly influenced by hydrological and atmospheric signals all the time.

Atmospheric pressure and precipitation are two of the main factors which influence temporal changes in gravity. Therefore, sufficient and accurate modeling of these effects is indispensable for the interpretation of the measurements of gravity-acceleration. At the Conrad Observatory, the acceleration of gravity is registered by the high precision super-conducted gravimeter GWR SG C025, as well as air pressure in the lab. Additionally, meteorological sensors are installed in the outdoor area to measure parameters including precipitation, temperature, precipitation and wind.


Project aims - This project is a follow-up project from EMGISCO – I and has following aims:
* Geophysical examination of potential water reservoirs underground.
* Continuation of snow measurements in the immediate area of the gravimeter GWR C025 SG, including measuring snow thickness with a sensor.
* Evaluation of information given by the weather radar and the micro-rain radar for observations of the water content in the atmosphere.
* Development of a data acquisition system for meteorological and hydrological data.

The exact record of meteorological and hydrogeological influential quantities and development of a comprehensive modeling method were another innovative step of gravimetric analysis, which allowed a higher significance of gravimetric data regarding geodynamic and geotectonic processes.
